To mark the inauguration, the company is offering a 60 percent discount for a limited period. Ramchandra Sharma, chairman of the company, confirmed starting full commercial operations of the cable car following the receipt of the 'Commercial Operation TUV Certificate' from TUV Nord India, managed by TUV Nord Germany. Ensuring the safety and quality of the project, continuous testing and improvement have been done so that the cable car matches up to international standards.
The holy temple of Khadgadevi at Bandipur can now be reached by visitors via a 1,700-meter cable car route from Chowk within just 7 minutes. A latest addition at the bottom station is a modern 'drive-in' restaurant, started since April 13 catering to local and foreign visitors with luxurious services. A 17-storey five-star hotel, 'Queen Tower', is nearing completion and is likely to be thrown open to the public within 5 months. This will be further developed with a Sky Walk, an 85-meter cantilever glass walkway; the world's highest 293 meter bungee jump; a 2800 meter zip line; and a Siddha Cave Chairlift cable car within 2 years. The cable car comprises 31 gondolas, out of which 21 are passenger gondolas which enables it to move 500 passengers per hour from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily in shifts.
