Nepal Airlines saw a financial decline in Fiscal year 2022/23

March 5th 2020

Among the 44 public enterprises evaluated, 26 were profitable, 15 ran into losses, and three did not have any business transactions.

In the fiscal year 2022-23, NAC suffered the highest loss compared to all other public enterprises, with the net loss surpassing Rs 650 million; this added to more than Rs 16 bln in accumulated losses since FY 2019-20. The net loss has declined slightly compared to the previous fiscal year, but the financial health of NAC as a whole remains unsatisfactory.

The problems—vvmallenging conditions for loan repayment, higher administrative expenses, low business volumes, delayed flights, and poor implementation of corporate strategies—point out that financial crisis has continued to plague NAC.
